It’s time for Ashley’s Scavenger Hunt!
1. GIVE ME FLOWERS
Here you go! After I did this shot, hubby actually came home with a bouquet of pink roses, so I wanted to re-shoot but got really lazy
Believe it or not, but I didn’t underexpose this shot in post processing. I metered the shot based on the fire and it gave me this amazing sharp constrast between the fire and the rest of the picture.
I often catch my husband leaned over one of our cats ( mostly Travis) kissing them on their coat and petting them
4. BEFORE and AFTER
I didn’t want to take this one literally and have a SOOC and an edited shot. So this is the before and after of a part of our backyard and the difference 6 months makes in the life of plants.
Our house at night! I love how you can see the little starts and it gave me the opportunity to get a shot of our house at night. Score!
On Thursday we are taking the whole day off ( oh the joys of self-employment) and spending it with our birthday boy (man?) at our favorite mansion, so aptly named Captain’s Quarters. We will go boating, spend the day at another deserted beach, take out wave runners for a ride, grill out and do all those things Floridians are known for. And all that during the work week- doesn’t it make it so much more special? As I describe this to you, I realize that those moments cannot be missed- I simply have to drag my massive $3000 camera with me (ugh!), because no matter how hard you try the little point-and-shoot just don’t capture the feel of the day. There probably won’t be many self-portraits… I’ll take an easy way out and frame the shot, take care of the settings and hand the camera over to my husband. If we’re really lucky, my guy friend from Miami will come down to Naples without mutual friend Alex, who is a long time fashion photographer friend from my New York modeling days. I haven’t seen him for a few years. He’s the one who took my favorite set of photos in black and white, topless with a cigarette ( sorry, but that’s the fashion world- nudity is art). This was a whole set of photos with 5 different girls that he later held an art exhibition for. After the photos were printed on a massive thick paper, an artist added some splashes of paint to the bottom of each and they were framed. I considered buying one for $250 bucks, but then decided that I don’t really want a topless picture of me smoking in the house no matter how cool it might be. Apparently, I was told that Alex had hung mine over his bed in his bedroom. Ok, a little bit creepy. But i choose to think he did it for the art or because I had the cuter little boobies than other girls’ massive tits ( ahahahaha I am dying laughing just thinking about what I am writing) lol The picture on the side is of the same set, but not the actual topless photo used in the art exhibit. I don’t have it posted anywhere, because it’s out right stright up “hello boobies!” So if these two stoners tag along, we’re definitely going to have some fun time. Otherwise I will attempt to take some picture of beautiful things I see around me. My friend, Elena, has a love/hate relationship with the camera, so depending on how good she feels about herself that day, I might or might not “be allowed” to take pictures with her in the frame. lol Also, I ordered this ADORABLE white Hollister Bikini and I am super psyched to be able to wear it before I get pregnant. Yay to that! That is if it arrives on time. Don’t you hate companies that ship with Fedex only to have it anchored to a local Post office ( say wha???), so that the actually delivery takes almost two weeks. Ridiculous! But obviously, it’s the new way of cutting corners on shipping, thank you very much big corporations. Like you’re not making money hand over fist already. So here’s my image for Black and White Wednesday and other challenges today. It’s another selfie portrait. I love propping the camera on the window sill and sitting directly across from it because the light that pours in is truly magical!
